The beautiful village of St Mawes in Cornwall (part 2)

Hey Hello,

And here is the second part of my getaway in Cornwall and more exactly in the town of St Mawes which is a pretty village located opposite the town of Falmouth on the Roseland Peninsula.

To get there there are 2 choices: either by car from Falmouth and it can take about 1 hour as you have to go up to Carnon Downs and then go down again. Either by ferry and that's what I did ! The boat trip was a simple choice, fast and especially very nice. From my hotel it was a walk of 5 min and to find several ferry companies (I chose the one that had an imminent departure as It was not too late to take the road back to Bristol. The ticket cost me £ 10 round trip for 15 to 20 min ride. I loved this little walk and this second day was still beautiful and hot again with this time of madness. I found the ride very relaxing and moreover I was able to take several pictures ... If I could have this view every day to go to work I will be so happy.

If you take the ferry to visit St Mawes, I recommend you especially one that has a fast enough departure not to waste time. The prices offered are the same.

Hey Salut,

Mes impressions sur St Mawes // My impressions about St Mawes
Arriving in the port after this nice boat ride well I immediately liked the atmosphere of this charming village. I noticed that it was going to be a quick visit as it is a small village but it is too charming and again very British. The people were so kind and the scenery unbelievably beautiful again. It is the water so blue and limpid that fascinates me. I loved this atmosphere of Sunday morning and especially to go from one city to another by boat. It helped me a lot in managing time.

So I discovered this city very easily and on foot for about 1h30 where I once again took the time to take pictures, do some shopping and especially stop for a drink. If you have the opportunity to visit St Mawes, you should visit:
- his castle "St Makes Castle"
- The point and the lighthouse of St Antony
- Trelissick's garden

Do not hesitate to venture into the narrow streets and let yourself be carried by the sea breeze which is nice !!

Mes adresses // My adresses
You should know that the Cornwall region is also known for its art. Indeed, whether in Falmouth or here in St Mawes, I found a lot of art gallery. We must really stop and look at what is happening because we can just fall on local artists with very interesting pieces.

The Square Gallery https://www.thesquaregallery.co.uk is a gallery that is worth a look because you can find everything. Of course it is Cornish artists' works, pieces of art, jewels ... all these unique and inspiring things can be found in this gallery. The prices are very variable and I also bought 2 decorative paper mache fish from the artist Sue Baker http://www.papiermachefish.co.uk/index.html I felt in love with these 2 pieces and now it's a nice memory of a local artist and not "Made in China" if you know what I mean !! And the saleswoman was very friendly with a lot of information exchange about artists.

Mr Scorse's Deli http://www.mrscorse.com The overwhelming heat pushed me to enter this little delicacy too cute located at the entrance of "The arcade". The purchase of a drink became a souvenir purchase especially with this honey and chocolate made in Cornwall.
The prices are a little bit higher than in Falmouth but the shop which mainly offers things to eat like fresh sandwiches, pastries, drinks and other local products are worth a stop for a quick break.

Well, the departure for Bristol was announced and it was time to go first by boat and then by car to Bristol. I hope you enjoyed my Cornwall travel guide and that this can give you an idea of the English coast which is just beautiful !! Admittedly, I was barely a day and a half there and I would have loved to do more things. I'm happy to have spent this mini weekend away from Bristol for once and can not wait to come back.

I also link you to the St Mawes Visitor Center https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/St-Mawes

See you soon on the blog for an upcoming article ;-)

PS: I forgot the guys ... when I left, I took a snack for the road and you absolutely have to taste a Cornish Pastry from THE CORNISH BAKERY http://www.thecornishbakery.com This is a chain that we find everywhere but it's too good especially the fish.
