Un petit post rapide que je vous partage aujourd'hui sur le blog car il y a quelques jours, je suis allée faire un tour dans la ville de Bath découvrir le marché de Noël. N'ayant jamais eu l'occasion de le voir, j'en ai profité pour prendre quelques photos.
A quick post that I share today on the blog because a few days ago I went for a walk in the city of Bath discover the Christmas market. Having never had the opportunity to see it I took the opportunity to take some pictures.
Depuis Bristol il est très facile de rejoindre Bath et j'avais décidé d'opter pour la solution rapide qu'est le train depuis la gare de Temple Meads. A chaque fois que je vais dans cette gare, j'ai l'impression de me croire dans un film d'Harry Potter tellement elle est magnifique. Pour un aller-retour et environ 10 à 20 min de trajet, j'ai payé £7,40 mon ticket. Sachez que jusqu'à 5 personne, on peut acheter un ticket famille qui coûte environ £15. C'est une solution économique si vous partez en groupe explorer cette ville.
Depuis le temps que j'entendais parler de ce marché, j'ai pu profiter de ma journée de repos pour enfin le voir avec mon amie Elo. Et je n'ai pas été déçue comme à chaque fois que je vais dans cette ville classée au patrimoine de l'Unesco. En arrivant sur place, j'ai de suite été transportée dans cette magie festive, cette magie de noël qui est très spéciale je trouve. Les gens sont plus sympas, les yeux brillent et toutes ces décorations sont vraiment jolies. Chaque pas m'approche peu à peu du marché et clic clac, je prends quelques photos !
Since Bristol it is very easy to go to Bath and I decided for the fast solution to take the train from Temple Meads station. Whenever I go to this station I feel like I'm in a Harry Potter movie because it's so beautiful. For a round trip and about 10 to 20 min journey I paid £ 7.40 for my ticket. Know that up to 5 people you can buy a family ticket that costs around £ 15. It is an economical solution if you go in group exploring this city.
Since the time I heard about this market I was able to enjoy my day off to finally see it with my bestie Eloïse. And I was not disappointed like every time I go to this city classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arriving there I was immediately transported in this festive magic, this magic of Christmas which is very special I think. People are cooler, eyes are shining and all these decorations are really pretty. Every step approaches me little by little to the market and clic clac I take some pictures !
C'est quoi ce marché de noël ?
C'est la 17ème année qu'il a lieu avec 200 chalets pour cette année 2017. Ce sont surtout des artisans venant pour la plupart de la ville de Bath et de la région du sud-ouest de l'Angleterre. Venir et acheter quelques produits sur place, c'est une façon d'aider et de valoriser le travail de ces artisans.
Je trouve que c'est l'endroit idéal pour se promener et surtout faire quelques achats. Forcément qui dit marché de noël dit grignoter, manger et boire. On y retrouve plusieurs chalets dédiés aux gourmands ! Entre le vin chaud, les gaufres, les crêpes, les fromages, le whisky, etc...Il y en a pour tous les goûts.
Il y a aussi un chalet assez spécial et vraiment très sympa qui est une étape incontournable pour se réchauffer, surtout qu'on a l'impression de se croire à la montagne. The Lodge est un café bar et restaurant où il est bon de se poser. La déco intérieure est vraiment chaleureuse et il y a une bonne ambiance qui règne. Entre le whisky, différentes bières et le vin chaud, il ne vous reste plus qu'à choisir. Il est de même avec L'après-ski Bar qui vaut aussi le détour !!
Sachez que le marché de noël se termine le dimanche 10 décembre et qu'il vous reste tout de même quelques jours pour y aller si vous êtes dans le coin.

What is this Christmas market?
This is the 17th year that the Christmas market with 200 chalets for this year 2017. They are mostly artisans coming mostly from the city of Bath and the southwestern region of England. To come and buy some products on the spot is a way of helping and valuing the work of these craftsmen.
I think this is the perfect place to walk around and especially to do some shopping for Christmas. Who says Christmas market says nibbles, food and drinks. There are several chalets dedicated to eater! Between mulled wine, waffles, pancakes, cheeses, whisky, etc ... There is something for everyone.
There is also a very special and very nice chalet that is a must for warming up especially since it feels like you're in the mountains. The Lodge is a cafe bar and restaurant where it is good to have a rest. The interior decor is really warm and there is a good atmosphere. Between whisky, different beers and mulled wine, all you have to do is choose. It is the same with the Après-ski Bar which is also worth the look !!
